The year 2023 marks the first ownership of Bulgarian plants as well as the construction of the largest EPC project with 124 MWp in the Verila mountain range.
By 2027, a pipeline worth 1.3 GWp will be installed. The solar parks will be operated by SECURSUN, the joint venture between German developer securenergy
and SUNOTEC.
Since joining the Danish market in 2017, we have constructed projects worth over 2.8 GWp. This makes Denmark SUNOTECs largest market overall.
As one of our first country markets, France now marks our second-largest market with 840 MWp being installed since 2017.
The year 2024 sees us evolving from a construction partner into a turnkey service provider. Over the past year, more than 200 MWp capacity was installed.
This market emerged in 2023, with two projects totalling an installed capacity of 174 MWp.
Our second EPC project has just been confirmed here.
We are expanding our horizon to West Africa, taking on the role of turnkey provider. With 66 MWp, this plant will be the largest in the country.

🌟 SUNOTEC Shines Bright at the 2024 Powers Summit Event in Sofia🌟
We are proud of the strong SUNOTEC presence at this year’s Powers Summit in Sofia, a key forum for shaping Bulgaria’s future across energy, workforce integration, and more. SUNOTEC’s Elitsa Videnova, Executive Director of the SUNOTEC Foundation, and Alexander Zahariev, Head of Strategy, shared valuable insights on two critical topics.
Elitsa Videnova was a panelist in the opening discussion, “The Power of Hope: Human-Centric Business,” where she highlighted SUNOTEC’s commitment to workforce integration:
“Over the past six months, SUNOTEC has welcomed 16 refugees from Syria and Afghanistan into our team. This decision has strengthened our community’s diversity and unity more than any team-building activity ever could.”
By providing a fresh start and a safe space for vulnerability, we reaffirm our belief in creating opportunities that make a meaningful difference—for individuals, businesses, and society.
In the Energy panel, Alexander Zahariev delivered a compelling keynote on re-electrification and energy storage, stating:
“Energy storage installations tripled globally in 2023, and 2025 is poised to be Europe’s most successful year for battery installations. SUNOTEC’s clients—some of Europe’s largest investors and energy conglomerates—are heavily investing in battery construction, paving the way for a more flexible, efficient, and independent energy system.”
Zahariev emphasised the need for regulators and investors to shift consumption patterns to support this transformation, highlighting the broader economic implications of these advancements.
Organised by Webit.Foundation and Digital Alliance Bulgaria, this high-level annual event brought together business leaders and government officials to tackle Bulgaria’s most pressing issues. Discussions spanned topics like energy, workforce inclusion, health, entrepreneurship, and finance, reflecting the interconnected challenges and opportunities facing Bulgaria today.
