Hoegholm (Denmark)
Engineering precision on one of Denmark’s most challenging solar terrains
Overview
The PV Plant Hoegholm in Holsted, Denmark, is a 97.36 MWp utility-scale solar installation. Implemented under a light EPC agreement, the project highlights SUNOTEC’s engineering and installation expertise in adapting solar PV infrastructure to challenging site conditions.
While the client supplied the PV modules, SUNOTEC was responsible for the engineering design based on the selected modules, as well as the full mechanical installation. This collaborative approach ensured the project was tailored precisely to both client specifications and the site’s technical requirements.

Planning & Engineering
SUNOTEC developed the project’s engineering design based on the client-selected PV modules, ensuring optimal system configuration and performance.
Construction & Implementation
The installation of over 158,000 modules, arranged in three-module columns on fixed mounting structures, required precise execution to accommodate the site's complex topography.
Challenges & Solutions
Located on one of the hilliest terrains in Denmark, the project required tailored engineering and installation strategies to ensure structural stability and optimal performance. SUNOTEC’s expertise in working across varied terrains enabled efficient implementation despite the site's demanding conditions.
Strategic Impact
PV Plant Hoegholm supports Denmark’s transition to renewable energy by increasing clean generation capacity while demonstrating SUNOTEC’s ability to adapt large-scale solar infrastructure to complex landscapes — reinforcing its role as a reliable partner for utility-scale developments across Europe.
