Since 2012, we have delivered more than 680 utility-scale renewable energy projects across Europe, establishing one of the industry's strongest track records in large-scale project implementation. This practical experience remains the foundation of our business today. What began with construction has evolved into broader capabilities. SUNOTEC has continuously expanded its capabilities, investing in engineering expertise, industrial execution, manufacturing, energy storage and international growth. This evolution has transformed the company from a construction specialist into an integrated provider of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure. Today, we design, deliver and optimise renewable energy systems by integrating generation, storage, grid infrastructure and lifecycle services into a single, coordinated approach.

We are united by a mission: to accelerate the energy transition by empowering a zero-carbon world. We do this by building the renewable energy systems that Europe depends on. Looking ahead, we continue to invest in innovation, ensuring our projects remain at the forefront of sustainable energy. Presently, the company operates from its offices in Munich, Germany and Sofia, Bulgaria.

2012
Establishment of SUNOTEC GmbH in Germany.
2013
SUNOTEC headquarters in Sofia is opened. Delivery of the first 2 MWp project in Germany.
2015
SUNOTEC enters the Danish market.
2017
SUNOTEC broadens its service offering through investing in its own machinery fleet.
SUNOTEC expands vertically by creating its in-house electrical engineering unit.
2018
SUNOTEC starts to offer a full construction portfolio, completing the first full-service project.
1 GWp of executed projects in Europe is reached.
2019
Release of SUNOTEC’s first large scale-solar farms in Africa and Australia.
2021
SUNOTEC builds he world’s biggest hybrid solar PV plant in West Africa.
2022
SUNOTEC celebrates its 10th anniversary.
SUNOTEC and securenergy start the joint venture SECURSUN with a pipeline of over 2.4 GWh battery storage by 2027.

The new headquarters in Sofia is developed and built, including a state-of-the-art monitoring centre.

Northern Africa sees an increase in projects.
BESS is added to the product portfolio.
2025
SUNOTEC invests in R&D centre for the development of own tracker system.
Expansion of global operations through the establishment of subdivisions.
SUNOTEC becomes the largest developer and operator of BESS in Bulgaria.

Investment in grid infrastructure strengthens SUNOTEC’s ability to deliver complete energy systems beyond generation and storage.
